2007 MINISTRY ACTIVITIES

EVANGELISM IN JUVENILE FACILITIES

The ministry coordinated Texas State, Texas County, and Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Illinois facilities with chaplains and administrators. Volunteers (who were recruited by mail, web site, and phone calls) went into a facility for a day of programs and faith sharing. The ministry created security lists, ID badges on lanyards, volunteer packets with response cards and Comic tracts. The ministry set up performers and arranged sound system and equipment needs for programs Following an event, pen pal correspondence was coordinated and youth requests for bible studies was sent to Crossroads Bible Study and monitored mail was coordinated at the office.

LITERACY PROGRAMS

Don presented writing and literacy programs in 9 facilities to 270 youth. The average length of a session was 5 hours and included interaction, a dynamic PowerPoint, exercises, and assignments. The teachers and administrators praised these seminars. Don was asked to give a presentation to a State Conference of Texas Teachers in April 2007 to demonstrate his methods. The seminars include scripture, faith statements, values, motivation, and encouragement.

EVANGELISM TRAINING

In 2007, Don led training 18 seminars of 3 hours in length at the Youth Direct office, and in local churches. The seminars included Basic Juvenile Training, Orthodox Beliefs, Cults, Aftercare, and Mentoring. Over 2400 people were trained in Texas, Georgia, and Pennsylvania.
